At the start of this year, we were happy to welcome Abel to Epiphany as our newest Design Engineer.
Abel is however not entirely new to the team. About a year ago, he completed his internship with us, working on the design of an external cavity for a hybrid integrated laser on Thin-Film Lithium Niobate (TFLN) platform. During that time, he already became a familiar face in the office, and now he’s back.
Abel studied both his Bachelor’s and Master’s in Applied Physics at the University of Twente. He carried out his Master’s assignment within the Non-Linear NanoPhotonics (NLNP) research group led by Professor David Marpaung. His research focused on stimulated Brillouin scattering spectrum engineering in TFLN.
With a strong interest in the simulation, design, and layout of integrated photonic circuits, Abel brings both solid academic expertise and hands-on experience to our design team.
Outside of work, you’ll likely find him reading, playing video games or tabletop games, or playing pool or squash.
We’re excited to have Abel on board and look forward to the projects we’ll work on together!
