We’re happy to welcome Hessel as the newest member of our team, joining Epiphany as a Junior Design Engineer.
Hessel brings a background in applied physics and a growing interest in integrated photonics. He recently started a Master’s in Applied Quantum Technology, a joint programme between Saxion University of Applied Sciences, Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, Fontys, and The Hague University of Applied Sciences. Alongside his studies, he supports our team part-time.
Before joining us, Hessel worked at the University of Twente on optimisation of aluminium oxide edge coupling. His first introduction to Epiphany came earlier this year, during an interactive PIC design training session taught by our CEO Jörn.
Outside of his technical interests, Hessel is currently training for a half triathlon and recently picked up mountain biking to stay active through the winter months.
We’re excited to have Hessel on board and look forward to the energy and curiosity he brings to the team!
